Because, unlike the main BF franchize known for seriousness, Bad Company is lovably goofy. Best way to describe the mood is . Unlike the previous Bad Company game we can enjoy this one on the PC too, although it is missing one DLC on the PC (Onslaught expansion which is a multiplayer co- op game mode). We are greeted with a WW2 intro/tutorial mission but the main game is played within a USA vs Russia conflict set in the present. The campaign is cool, fun and it keeps this tone for the most of the game. You will probably find your two or three favourite weapons and play those. First playthrough is good but once you unlock all the weapons you get to choose how you want to play. Which in my case was running around destroying everything with the rocket launcher. Unlike the collectable weapons that unlock for later use (or to have them already when replaying the campaign) the m- com stations serve little purpose than to distract. There could have been perhaps less (or more?) enemies if you find and disable one of these stations .. Your team buddies can actually kill enemies although the focus stays on you so you don't get bored letting your (immortal) mates do all the work. You all make a stereotypical gang - the smart one with glasses, the tough one, the sarge and the basic/vanilla one which you play. The slightly dated graphics still hold their charm though there are some graphical hick- ups - like tank threads that do not move. Because of this you either have to know where your enemy is or you have to be lucky. These storms are also annoying when driving around in vehicles and avoiding cliffs. The multiplayer is a blast and is still one of the best FPS multiplayers (even more if you have the Vietnam expansion). The playerbase is still good so check it out. There are more players in the default multiplayer than the Vietnam expansion but try that out too, it is awesome. Overall this is not a perfect game, it has flaws, but these can be overlooked due to the sheer fun factor of it. Last night, when the moon was new, I couldn't sleep, I was thinkin' of you And how much I need ya, how about that I act like I'm tougher than steel. Set during the Civil War, Bad Company stars Barry Brown as a Northern boy, Drew Dixon, who heads West to avoid getting drafted. He falls under the spell of Jake.
